Almost Christmas!!!..... how scary!

First of all a huge congratulations to Sam and Tamar for getting through to the finals in Pole Divas and competing against the best dancers in the country! What a rush that must have felt, i so so very proud of them both :-)

I don't know about you, but i really don't feel like its Christmas. I have tried to get into the Christmas spirit by singing along to the classics, arranging to see family members during the important days. But all i would like to do is have long lie ins, go for long walks over the moors and just chill out! Uni really doesn't like to be kind to its students, just when i thought i was getting through the piles of course work, presentations and having 2 jobs, i get the thrill of revising for 2 exams and completing more course work in the first week i return from Christmas, which basically means..... no holiday for me!

Chris is very understanding of these circumstances, hence he is taking me away to Amsterdam for 5 days for New Years. I'm so excited as i have never really explored Europe like i have the rest of the world. Amsterdam has such a fun and crazy reputation, it sounds like just what i need to get away from everything here. We will be going for another couple, so i think i will be coming home with face ache from too much laughing :-D

I have come to a time in my life where my maternal instincts are getting so strong its starting to scare me, so i have decided Chris and I have to get a dog! Chris is very fond of this idea, but not so fond about moving house so that we can get one. We live in a top floor flat, which is not very suitable to bring up a puppy, and the area is always full of glass on the floor (Not nice in the slightest!). I started looking around yesterday and found it almost impossible where landlords like pets in the building! I have suggested that we will pay for professional cleaning but still not many are keen. Chris and I have had dogs all of our lives so its not like we are ammeters and will let them run wild like hyenas. So fingers crossed for the new year.

The UPPDC classes have been going very well and the girls have progressed fast, we are holding competitions very soon next year between other uni's,  we have had so much great feedback about our idea that i am surprised no one has done anything about it before. It's great to know my time at uni with my committee will make a difference to university history.

In January on Wednesday 28th we will be holding a charity show case in the SU raising money for certain muscular charities. We will be performing for a couple of hours and will party more afterwards, so keep this date free in your diaries as everyone is welcome, all we ask for is a donation on entry.

Right that's me for now, i have more work to be getting on with, I have an exam next Tuesday so must get my head down.
Take care and have a wonderful Christmas

Hello again!

Its been a while since i last posted and i feel very guilty so i thought it best to be kind to my conscience and write an update of what has been happening in the hectic life of Nixi!

Well first of all was the airing of Eggheads on 30th October. That was a very funny 30 mins, some of my friends, Chris, my team mates and their friends, Sam and the BBC crew that had been following Sam around for the past couple of weeks were all there. We just all laughed all the way through, it was almost like doing it all over again as we hadn't seen ourselves on T.V before and our friends didn't know we had won. So it was really fun to watch it at the student union.

I have been really busy at university, and now even busier since i have been set 2 essays, 2 group projects and an exam to do all before 12 December!! So i don't really have time to breath. But its all good as i am finding the second year alot more interesting and focused more on the things i am interested in. Getting nervous of my third year dissertation already, i have decided what i am going to do, its just deciding how and when to start. i don't want to be doing it in my third year, i would prefer it if it was finished by September so i can focus on other things, though it is 50% of my final 3rd year mark!

The University pole dance club has really kicked off this year, we have more regular students coming to classes everyweek then there have ever been, showing that pole dance has built the reputation of becoming the most popular and exciting way to get fit and meet new friends whilst having fun. This is great news! I have even seen that KT Coates has made a petition to get pole dancing recognised as an olympic sport. As this was the first thing all my family said when they first saw me and the AOD crew pole dance, and because of the intense strength, concentration, determination and precision of pole dance, i strongly believe that it should.
The link to it if you wish to sign is http://www.petitiononline.com/polympic/.

Last night first the first time my parents and Chris' parents met. It turned out to be a very good evening and everyone got on well, so that good news, even with lots of alcohol and food involved!
So today to release all the tension from the hectic and stressful week, Chris and I are going surfing, thats if he can get his lazy butt out of bed, i think  a kick should do it :-) hehehe

Have a great week ahead and hope to see you soon,
Nixi

Back to normal term routine

Hi!

So the UPPDC has started again and the first induction classes started this week with a bang! We have over 130 members so far and still climbing after the freshers fair. Today my class was filmed by the BBC3 film crew for their new documentary about pole dancing which i am sure Sam has written all about it in her blog.

Not much else to say other than i have been studying lots and am determined to do really well in my second year as i will get more support with my studies due to finding out i have a below average memory capacity, which was very upsetting to find out but great to know why i forget things like i do!

I crashed my van roof into a low arch way a couple of weeks ago, so now i am going through the insurance company to try and sort that out, complete nightmare!! May have to get a new roof as the damage is pretty bad, so i just hope that it can be done within the vehicle value because i really don't want to write my sunshine off just for a hole in the roof!

Will be back with more chat soon, take care

About to start uni!!

So i'm back from my amazing surf trip to France and have come back engaged!! I am so happy, Chris is just pefect for me :-)

The classes for the UPPDC will start the week after next so keep your eyes peeled and don't forget to come to the freshers fair to join the UPPDC with your NUS and Sports card. Ofcourse you must be a student to be a member, so if you are don't miss out!! the dates are Wed 1st Oct at 6pm til 10pm and Sat 4th Oct 2pm til 6pm. We will be in the SU so make sure you can make it!

I haven't been here as i have been on holiday but i wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Rosanna and Steve on there engagement, and to all the new mothers to be!!

CONGRTAULATIONS to Tamar and Sam for qualifying for the finals, you both did fantastic performances, good luck with the finals!! xx

I passed my ETM so am now a qualified aerobics instructor and will hopefully be doing some dance based aerobics in the second studio in the not too distant future.

I will keep you posted on when my next lessons will be and when i will start my regular flexibility classes to keep you all bendy inbetween pole lessons!

Take care and hope to see you all soon,
Nixi

Aerobics assessment coming up, arghh!!!!!!

Yes it is now only 2 days away, will i or will i not be a qualified exercise to music teacher??? I will certainly let you know in my next blog, i just know right now that i am bricking it!! lol

Great news, on Friday i got a text from Mad Dog productions who held the auditions for the new Alice in Wonderland movie  by Tim Burton, and i was asked to take part and audition for the ball room scene as a dancer. But this is just bad timing because on Monday Chris and I had literally just booked and paid for our ferry, breakdown cover and insurance to go away fro 3 weeks, which would mean i would miss the dance audition, the first sitting and the beginning of filming!

Chris asked which would i prefer and i definately chose surfing for 3 weeks in warm waters rather than stuck in Plymouth with the "chance" of being famous in a cool movie. Yes i agree is a fab opportunity, but i only went for it to see if i would get it and i would do it if i was available. And im not!
I go back to university on the 29th September so it would also clash with this as i have so much to organise for the UPPDC and get my head back into science. It was so great though to discover that i was chosen! Congratulations to all of you who went for it and got the part :-) and i'm sorry for those of you who didn't :-(

I taught the Friday class last week and got the girls on a spinning pole then did some flexibility training, was fun but very dizzy! I will next be teaching 2 private classes on Friday this week before i head off to France.

I hope the social went well on saturday, i unfornately couldn't make it due to my Support Work job. I have to work heaps to make up for the 3 weeks of no wages to come!! But i know it will be worth it and i can't wait for this holiday. I have realised that since i started traveling i usually can't go any longer than 2 years without escaping away. As i am at uni it is hard for me to go off on one of my adventures, so now i have to take this trip before the long and evil hours of study get me in October to June next year!! Argghhhhhhh

Enough of my ramblings, take care and hopefully see you on my return to Plymouth :-)

Almost holiday time!!!

Hi!!

Well i have been absolutely manic since i went back to London to do the second part of my course. I will find out if i passed my theory paper when i do my final assessment next Wednesday. Fingers crossed i will pass them both, i have been typing up lesson plans and going over my routine to perfect it, i have also been covering shifts at the studio because the 1.30pmTtuesday afternoon classes have been cancelled til Sept, and doing my support work in the spaces in-between.

The weekend before last was Chris' birthday so i took him to Newquay for 4 days in the van, it was also the board riders festival. Though we didn't go to it, we went exploring in the rain instead to areas close by. We surfed on Sunday, did coasteering, rock climbing and absailing Monday with SaltAir then went Quad bike racing on Tuesday For Chris' Birthday. It was so much fun, but now i am skint! LOL

So since then i have been putting together my routine and i am going to practice my whole routine tonight, i tried to do it with Chris last night but he was too preoccupied with watching the footy than watching his feet on the grapevine!! LOL
Never mind, i have to teach my imaginary class tonight so i can really get it drilled into my head.

When we moved in to our flat last year, we found that after a couple of months we had a cheap little lodger who left us droppings instead of rent. After not hearing or seeing it for a few months we thought it may have gone, but not til last night!
I was in the lounge when something small and fast whizzed past the door and into the kitchen, so i rushed in to see what it was, and yes! It was the little mouse that moved in just after us. we chased it around the flat for about 40 mins, during this time the mouse had run over my hand and made me screem and chris had put socks ove his hands to prevent the mouse sctatching him if he caught it. Then he did catch it!! We put it in a tupperware and had a good look at the little sneak, and we noticed he had 3 normal feet and a stump for the other. So cute, we couldn't kill it so we threw it over the wall in the back garden. We heard the owl tooting all night last night so we reckon he had a tasty dinner which had been living our crumbs!

Chris and I have booked our 3 week surfing trip to France starting next Saturday. We are getting the ferry to Roscoff and driving the DUB along the west coast to search for those crystal clear waves that the French coast is famous for.

Right, have to get back to work.
Take care and may see you before or after i go away for a long deserved break with my lover

Back for a short time...

I arrived back in Plymouth on Monday evening after a grueling 7 day intensive theory and practical aerobics course, though i have only just got through the first half, i still have another 7 days to come starting on Monday and a theory exam next saturday and lots of practical assesments awaiting me all next week. I am loving the ETM course but my body is screaming to me to rest. I have been getting up at 5.30 to 6 am every morning to catch a train at 6.30 or 7am to get to London for 8.30am. i'm staying with a really good friend which is awesome but my what a journey everyday!

I was welcomed back enthusiasticslly by my man who greeting me with flowers and lots of kisses, then i got home and he made me an amazing dinner and desert and bought me a couple of dance movies to watch. he is just perfection! :-)
I didn't think it was humanly possible to miss someone so much, but now i know that it is, it hurts, but the wait is so worth it when i come back ;->

I went back to work yesterday (Tuesday) for my 1.30pm session which the lovely Hayley coverd for me last week, then i had a private class and a quick catch up with Sam and Jo before heading home. It sounds like i have and will be missing heaps of cool stuff thats been going on which you will read about on their blogs. But i will be going to the Flashdance muscial with the whole crew on Friday which i am really looking forward to.

Hopefully we will be having another Parkour class with the wicked Rob Green, it was so much fun i definately recommend it for anyone who wants to feel like they have not a care in the world and be free as a kid again. I just laughed the whole way through, i will definately get my man to give it ago with me soon too.

I have to head off again now to do my revision, i was going to spend my day doing some practical work, but when i got my head in my folder last night with all the theory i need to memorise, i decided that theory is definately a priority today, hopefully will get my aerobics head on tomorrow after a refreshing surf tonight.

Until next time, take care and keep up the Bruise of the month pictures coming in, they are truely eye opening and reminds us all how hard pole dncing really is :-)

What a carry on???!!

Today is Sunday, i am going to teach one hour and fifteen minutes of extreme stretching and core strengthening in just one hour, but i just had to say how disappointed i was with Mellow wave.

I had arranged to pick up a mini mal in Bude at 10.30am Saturday morning, Chris and i miss judged the time so i called ahead to Steve the board shaper that we would be about 30 mins late and if that was ok, he said it was fine so we made our way there. We got to bude at 10.50am, just 20 mins late. I called Steve to ask him which number his place was, his son answered to tell us that "Steve has gone out and won't be back til 2pm, so could we come back then?"

Urm, no! we will not! We had just spent an hour driving up there especially to get this board, i had woken at 8am on a Saturday morning especially for this, and i didn't even get a call to say that he was going out or if we could come later or "sorry" that he could not wait for us. I was extremely annoyed to say the least, so instead we carried on driving down to Newquay and had the best customer service and dedication possible to give.

A really sweet guy from the Boardwalk shop gave us loads of info about the boards and explained about each one, i chose the one i wanted with the dimentions best suited for my ability and body size, then he took us around to the adjoining shops so i could choose from a huge selection of traction pads and leash. He did this in such a friendly and laid back way that i definately knew i wanted to spend my money at this shop.

I still don't know how one surf board sales person can be so different from the other, you can form your own oppinions, i just wanted to say that if you were looking to buy a surf board or anything that is important to you, don't buy from people who don't care about how you are treated and what you are buying, because you will always remember when/ how/ why you bought it and who you bought it from.

Have a great week

Celebrations!!

I'm so stoked, i finally sold my car today!! Woohooo!!

I have been taking the 1.30pm classes on Tuesday which have been great fun.

I have a flexibility master class on Sunday (29th June) at 12pm til 1.15pm, so you will have 15 more minutes or stretchy time!

I will be taking the 6.15pm class on Monday and the 7.30 induction class as Sam and Jo are skiving! I'm really looking forward to those two classes as i don't get to see too many of the regular students anymore as i am no longer on reception due to my busy support work schedule.

This weekend i'm hoping for some awesome surf as i may be purchasing a new board on Saturday in Bude from the company mellow wave who shape their own boards. They seem really nice so fingers crossed my board will be wicked!

I'm still looking forward to those photos Rosanna has on her camera from RTTS, Chris and I have been waiting with patience and anticipation! It would be great to have a pole Jam with all the crew too, it feels like it has been ages :-(

Well i'm off to do some house work before my man arrives home from work.

Take care and hope to see you soon xxx

More hecticness!

Well its been a few weeks but now im back again to let you know whats been going on with me :-)

First off, Run To The Sun was an awesome weekend with Rosanna, we danced on the main stage at Trevelgue holiday park til 4am Friday to Sunday night. I had numerous bruises from trying my hardest to grip the pole with sweat and bright lights trying to hinder my performance. Luckily i had on my Nomis gloves i purchased from theartofdance.co.uk, without them it would have been 10 times harder to get any grip on the pole.

I then spent the next weekend in London being filmed on eggheads, i can't let you know much about it until it airs but i know we made quite an impression at the BBC studio! Will keep you informed when it will be shown, just watch out for the Flexi Funksters!!!

The following weekend was the Art of Dance social at the wonderful Annabels in Plymouth, everyone who performed gave an exceptional show, i feel like i need to do some serious training to keep up with everyone, i was completely wowed by all dancers!

I gave my flexibility class on Saturday just gone, i made a point of working on core strength and flexibility. I even felt the burn the next day in my abs, and it was good!
Keep your eyes peeled for the next of the flexibilty classes!!

I am back on the 1.30pm Tuesday classes at the HQ studio in Plymouth, i have missed teaching so am eager to get back into it and see everyone again. My other job has been taking alot of my time as it is long hours and very demanding, support work isn't for the faint hearted!

Until next time, take care and see you soon :-)

Back in business!!

Hello all, I have just complete my first year at university and wow! what a challenge. I just hope i have passed my exams.

There are no UPPDC lessons til next academic year, which i am sad about as i will miss those girls xx

Its Sam's birthday today and she is holding the West Country Pole jam, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!!! Hope you are having a wonderful day and a lovely evening, Hope Sid treats you like the queen you are :-) xx

I am unfortunately crippled with period pain today, i have never suffered it before, but it seems as soon as I've hit 26 yrs the pain has hit too, with great force. Apparently its hereditary, damn it!

So today i resting until tonight when i am meeting my mans grandparents, then supposed to be out with the girls. Painkillers here i come!!

I have no lessons lined up other than the next flexibility master class which will be held on the 7th June at 11am, so make sure you make it :-)

I will also be performing with Rosanna at RTTS from the 23rd May, im so excited!! This will be such an amazing experience, one i will remember for a life time!

I'm off to the lounge now to watch some footy and feel sorry for myself with this pain.
Take care xxx

Hectic!!!!

Hi all,
Im so sorry i have been slack with informing you all of my whera abouts and doings, etc. I have been studying very hard as my first exam is a week today. i am so nervous and worried but i am trying to put in the effort (facebook keeps distracting me!) so i should do fine. Im just about to revise now so i thought i would just give you a quick low down on my events.

I have been teaching tuesdays classes at 1.30pm, these are great and a fab study break. The girls are doing well and improving incredibly. I unfortunately will not be teaching the next two Tuesday because of exams but i will be back after then. I have also been up to my usual tricks with the UPPDC classes on Wednesday, they are going well and have been really good for the girls to get out of their studying time table. A good dance is a great stress reliever!

I am teaching another flexibility class this Saturday at 12.30pm, it will be very similar to the last class, lots of excessive stretching so make sure you book now and come on an empty stomach :-)

I am now off to revise the dreaded chemistry!!
Take care and i hope to see you soon xxxxxx

Thursday, 10 April 2008

Hello!
Well it looks like we are all enjoying a fresh sunny spring, im so glad it isn't raining or overly hot like last year. That was all totally crazy!

Im in great spirits, my Saturday flexability work shop went down a treat! So Sam has set up another one for the 26th of April at 12.30pm. If you missed this one make sure you don't miss the next one!! If you went to this one, make sure you come back for more! No doubt you will after all the great feedback i recieved :-)
I had a lovely group of girls on my Tuesday class, very determined and hard working, keep it up ladies :-)

I am teaching my UPPDC group this afternoon, i know they will want a complete beasting after a long break so i will make sure i don't disappoint!! hehe

I went into the dance shop at the bottom of town opposite the market today, i was just browsing about when the male shop attendant started chatting to me about the shoes and stuff i was looking at. When i told him what i did he was so in awe of pole dancing! What a fab reaction! he was enthusiastic about how flexible and strong we are to do what we do and he thought it is an awesome fitness sport. I was so pleased, this gives me more confidence to boost pole dancing in Plymouth, and the UPPDC are starting with the university. We are aiming to promote pole dancing to such a high caliber that anyone who dares to knock us down will crawl away ashamed of their arrogance :-)

Watch this space!!

Well i have to go and do my uni work, exams are in a couple of weeks and i have 2 more things to finish before i can get into the full swing of revision.

Until the next time, take care and keep spinning :-)

Here are my pictures courtesy of Chris Trent from Global Eye photography. Nixi x

Wednesday, 2 April 2008

Hello again, well after all that chocolate (and chocolate covered crunchy nut cornflakes i keep making) i notice that chocolate isn't great for the figure!

So on Friday when gorgeous Sam suggested all the staff have a pole jam after our meeting, i was very much up for it. It was so much fun as the lovely Jo decided to film us all messing around on the pole, which actually turned out ok. Though ofcourse im never happy with my own performance, especially as i had a mind lapse and didn't know what on earth to do! You can check out the videos on Sam's Blog.

Also on the sunday just gone my boyfriend and i went surfing, though the waves were so big we put our boards back in the car and ended up jumping around like teenagers in the waves. It was so much fun! My abs and bum muscles were in agony, i definitely recommend acting like a kid in big waves, not only do you laugh so much, but you get a really good exercise hitting the areas you really want worked :-)

Its so great to see the sun coming out more regularly, especially when it gets a little warmer too. I have been going out of the house with out a coat!! First time in a very long time. Im so excited about the summer that i have decided to sell my fiesta which is unfortunately just sitting around watching the world go by, and am investing in a VW camper van! i have looked at one but have been put off the rubbish the seller keeps repeating (hobby? My butt, surely traveling the country buying campers, re-spraying them and selling them is more of a business then a hobby!) I have my eye on one, i will keep you informed with my purchase :-)

This Tuesday i had a great work out with the beautiful Rossanna, we practised our world class tricks which almost broke me. But then i had 2 lessons after which was also fun as it cooled me down but kept me active. It is great to see how well these girls are progressing, it gets better each week :-)

Today i gave my usual UPPDC lesson, but i really beasted the poor girls. Not one left without a bruise, this always makes me smile as i know they worked really hard and push themselves to pain. Very inspirational!

I am next in the studio on Saturday, i will be teaching my flexibility class, i did the session plan today. i'm not going to lie, its a lot of stretching and you may walk like John wayne and be floppy like Mr Soft, but the next day you will feel great :-)

So until the next time, take care an have a great weekend :-)

HAPPY EASTER!!

Ahh, i love this time of the year. Lots of hugs and chocolate everywhere we go :-)
Since i last wrote a lot has happened, first of all i was whisked away to Paris for the weekend by my man (very beautiful and romantic) i definitely recommend it.
Since then i have been trying to get back into my studies (very hard work when its just so dull and i have been shown the brighter side of life just across the waters!) I am getting there, i have set strong targets for myself which i won't be happy if i don't achieve them.

I have been teaching my usual UPPDC lessons, except last week as it was the first week of our University Easter break. I also taught the afternoon lesson on the Tuesday which i really enjoyed, the girls were so enthusiastic and determined, a  very positive lesson.

I will be doing the same this week on Tuesday as i enjoyed it so much last week, i hope it becomes a regular thing. I am also teaching a UPPDC lesson this Wednesday so that my club members keep up their strength over the break. They are also very passionate about dancing so i really get a buzz from teaching these girls, hopefully next year we will be entering university competitions, i know we will win by a milestone!!

I am taking the workshop at 12.15pm on April 5th, i will be focusing on flexibility. This will include back stretching and flexing, splits training and core mobility. I will be applying my knowledge i learnt in India, so if your looking to challenge your body then this class would be great for you. But if you do suffer from a bad back/hips, it probably wouldn't be a great idea to come along as you may find it a bit too straining on those areas.

I hope you are all having a great weekend, its a shame about the rubbish weather, but best make the most of all this free time!! I know i will :-)
Now i'm off to collect my chocolate, see you soon

Too excited for words!!!

Its been another wonderful couple of weeks with the Art of Dance. Last Friday was my joint Birthday party with the Art of Dance, it was so much fun to see everyone, especially everyone that performed. I was in awe at how well people have progressed since the last social last year. Its amazing, I'm so proud of everyone!!
Then on saturday i gave my sexy dance class, that went really well. I tried something different, i thought i would do some choreography which seemed to go down really good, i just wish my head was in better working order that day!!

I taught my usual class of UPPDC lessons this Wednesday, they are all getting along really well. Even the girls that only joined up this term, its wonderful to see what dedication can do, I'm really please for them all.
I then had an evening at reception for Jo's classes, which is always a pleasure. Also a huge thank you and hug to Sarah xx

I have just come back from the woman's fair today, wow! Sam and Jo certainly worked their little butts off. They had been pulling out poses solidly for the whole time i was there and 3 hours previously. Hats off to those girls!! xx

My step mother, Maria Ashurst, was also there with her Virgin Vie stall. It was great to see lots of people are booking private parties with them and inquiring about representing Virgin vie themselves. They had lots of beautiful and pampering products there.

I will be away from this evening until Sunday Night (the day of my birthday) as my amazing man is taking me away for a surprise weekend. I know nothing! He has told me what to pack and that we are leaving tonight! I'm so excited!!

I Just ran back from the door as my brother had sent me a huge bunch of flowers to my house as he lives in Hertfordshire. I do feel very lucky and princess like :-)

So I'm off now to beautify myself for the weekend.
Take care and have a fantastic weekend xxx

Sunday, 17 February 2008

All is FAB!!

The end of another week, and boy it has been a busy one! Not that I am complaining, in fact, its quite the opposite. I had the opportunity to cover 3 shifts over the weekend which i enjoyed immensely, no matter how much i pole dance i can never get tired of it.

I also had my regular classes on Wednesday for the UPPDC, the classes were just 1 or 2 from fully booked. This was great to get the club members together and practice the basic techniques we did last term and improve on them. This coming week we will be doing dance sequences which i know some of the girls are really excited about.

Valentines day was nice but rubbish for me, i came down with aches and pains all over my body and just felt like sleeping. The romantic meal and massage i had planned for my man had to be cancelled and he ended up cooking for me!
My boyfriend did take me out for a delicious sushi dinner at Yukisan on Friday night, but i still wasn't feeling great so we came home and watched a movie together.

But i would say the best day this week was Saturday, i awoke feeling 100%, we went surfing at Fistral beach for the afternoon, finished with an asian curry in the Red Lion (ample food!) then drove back to Plymouth so that i could teach a class of 2 lovely ladies by 7pm. When i arrived home my boyfriend was waiting and acting all suspicious. I tried to ignore his weirdness and jumped in the shower. When i got out, he led me to the front room where i had a glass of red wine waiting, a quilt on the floor with a long pillow, grapes and chocolates! I must of had the biggest smile on my face when he told me to lay down and proceeded to massage me for almost 2 hours. It was amazing, he's no pro but tried his hardest and it felt great :-) He is definitely my keeper!!

Now its Sunday evening and i just want to settle infront of the T.V with my man and relax, I will be on Reception Wednesday evening after i have taught my UPPDC classes. And i think thats it for this week.

I will be teaching another Sexy Dance Master Class on the 1st March at 1pm, and on February 29th will be attending the Art of Dance Social for my birthday party!! So excited as i hope all of you will be there to show off your talents and to have a great time.

Till next time, take care and keep smiling xxx

What a fantastic weekend its been at the Art of Dance!

Firstly i got to see Sam finishing off teaching a hen party on Saturday, they wanted her to perform for them, so she pulled out her stunts, and yet again, i am in awe! Sam is so strong she would put wrestlers to shame!

Then i was my turn to teach, i did an hour of sexy dances and stances then had to do a little show also. I was so nervous after showing "what should be done" , but i think i made my way through it ok. I really must perform more often infront of the instructors so then i wouldn't be so scared. Its crazy when in fact i used to dance infront of a whole dance club back in my podium days, now i get worried if its just 15 people!

I then joined the rest of the staff on Sunday for a photo-shoot with Chris Trent, he is very professional, i was very impressed with his pictures and can't wait to see us all in frames lining the studio :-)

This week i am on reception Wednesday night after i have taught the UPPDC class, then on Sunday i am teaching 2 classes which i am very excited about.

I have to go now and make my man his tea, he is grumbling!
Thanks for reading and i hope to see you soon xxx

Wednesday, 6 February 2008

So its now Wednesday evening and i have danced for 3 hours straight today, i can tell you that i am aching in places i had forgotten about!

The Saturday Sexy Dance class went really well, which i am very pleased about. I also covered Sam in her 7.30pm class on Tuesday which was also good fun. Its so great to be part of the Art of Dance as there are such lovely students who are also very committed.

University is starting to get hectic again, even though I'm enjoying the pressure of all the work i have to do, like an exciting (NOT) chemistry exam next Friday and two 1500 word essays due in two weeks. Its all fun learning and great experience for time management.

It is coming up to the UPPDC elections at the end of this month, i am going for chair again, so if you are a member of the UPPDC, vote for me!! Check out my page at  http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=12897140934,
there is also a link on that page for the UPPDC facebook site.

I will be doing a photo shoot on Sunday for the Art of Dance so that should be fun, i just have to make sure my bruises from today have gone!

Thats it from me for today, till the next time, take care and keep smiling through these very windy and grey days xx

New Classes

First of all, Congratulations to Sam for your studio kicking off to a fantastic start this year, and to Jo becoming the assistant manager. These are both great news and I'm so happy for both of you xx
I'm really looking forward to Saturday, this will be my first official Sexy Dance class with the art of dance. Its exciting to know its just one person from fully booked when i looked last night which is awesome, its going to be so much fun!

I am currently doing reception duties for Sam a couple of nights a week so you may see me smiling at you behind the desk when you walk in. It been really great meeting all the students i don't normally see, I'm hoping to see more of you all through the year when i start teaching pole dance and sexy dance classes.

Also the UPPDC classes have now changed from Wednesday and Thursday at 5pm to Wednesday at 3.45pm and 5pm. This is great news for the members as many of them start work at 5pm or just after so now they can make a lesson :-)

The elections for the UPPDC will be coming up again soon, i will be putting myself forward for a second year as Chair person. There are many roles available so UPPDC members keep your eyes peeled if you want to be come part of the committee.

Thats all from me today, I'm off to do my Chemistry exam, wish me luck! xxx

Happy New Year!!

The beginning of the year has now begun and I am rearing to go!!
The new studio is awesome and i know everyone will love it! The UPPDC are starting the year different to last year so thats very exciting, also I am looking forward to teaching usual classes as well as the UPPDC classes so that i can meet a variety of people and improve both my teaching experience and the students variety of teachers as we all have lots of great styles to share with everyone.
I am feeling very positive about this year, it looks like it is going to start fantastically, especially for Sam now she has a huge studio all for her inspiration to grow, and for my teaching career as i gather more experience.
On Tuseday 14th Jan there is a freshers fair between 12pm and 8pm to join the UPPDC at the SU in the University of Plymouth, so if you are a student but not yet a member make sure you make it to that day with your sports card so we can join you up. I will be back again soon for an update of when the UPPDC lessons will be run and for the Art of Dance news about the new studio.
Take care :-)
